Vegetation threatened by the Fourth Belt I. Section
Abrera-Terrassa
The projected road, known as the Fourth Belt of Barcelona,
could affect natural places of interest. In this article, more than one
hundred plants present in less than two kilometers of the planned road
course are discussed. In a first section, rare or peculiar species such
as the bee orchid, the yellow horned-poppy, the tutsan, the coltsfoot
or the aspen are included. Secondly, many autochthonous plants are treated
(water speedwell, hazel, hemp agrimony, teasel, pendulous sedge, water-cress,
bracken, greater celandine, etc.). Finally, introduced or cultivated
plants are also considered (e.g., walnut, date plum, balm).
